You can now book a place here: http://tinyurl.com/5ypj2e
It’s basically 2 very very packed days on anything and everything to do with Oracle indexes, that covers how Oracle actually implements it’s various index structures such as B-Tree, Bitmap, itmap-Join, Partitioned, Reverse, Index Organized Tables, Secondary Indexes on IOT, Invisible, Virtual, Function-Based, Linguistic and Compressed indexes in lot’s of detail.
It’s also covers how the Cost Based Optimizer uses and costs indexes, how one determines when an index should (or should not) be used, what are all the various index related access paths, how does one troubleshoot problematic index related issues, with lots of tips and tricks to get the most out of your indexes.
It of course also discusses how the various index structures should be maintained, when one should rebuild or coalesce or shrink an index, what are the differences between the strategies, when and how do indexes become fragmented, how does one detect problematic indexes and lot’s lot’s more.
